Morley marks 18th season at U A theater program

University of Albuquerque director Jim Morley begins his 18th season with Dark of the Moon opening Oct. 12. Morley started his career at the West Mesa college then known as College of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, staging Glass Menagerie in a gym with 12 tin can lights.

Corrales council approves tanker swap with county unit

The Corrales Village Council agreed to buy 30 minute airpacks at 900 dollars and trade them to Bernalillo County for a 1952 GMC tanker. Chief Bill Olson says the swap adds needed equipment. the tanker is valued at several thousand dollars today.

West Mesa High Backs Free Course Education

West Mesa High School will not collect fees for required courses this year. APS will provide some funding to cover losses, but teachers doubt it will fully compensate. Department heads note students must still pay for some materials and special classes, while stressing that a free education is funded by public money and taxes.
