Rio Rancho officials may condemn the privately owned water and sewer utility to secure control of Rio Rancho Utilities Corp. Negotiations for a possible out-of-court purchase remain open, per city letters to General Water Works president Ronald Dungan.
District Attorney Mike Runnels says last Wednesday’s drive by shooting involving a 16 year old Albuquerque boy is a gang related crime now under investigation. Daniel Kimball 18 and Raymer Shaw 20 both of Rio Rancho are jailed on conspiracy to murder attempted murder and related charges with firearms. they are held on a 20000 cash bond and could face additional charges as investigators pursue more arrestees.
Defense motion argues Thirteenth Judicial District prosecutors Joe Artie Pat McNertney and Gloria Lucero are potential witnesses creating a conflict of interest in the Randy Hoover case. Hoover, 33, former Rio Rancho resident, was indicted in February on numerous counts of sexual misconduct with five local children under 13.
