Oktoberfest draws thousands to Rio Rancho for second year
An estimated 7,000 people gathered at Haynes Park in Rio Rancho for Oktoberfest. The 1200 seat bier tent was packed across Friday to Sunday amid long entry lines. Visitors enjoyed sauerkraut and sausage, imported beer, and polka music from Enzian Schuhplattler Dancers, The Polka Dots, The Edelweiss Dancers, and Swingshift Oktoberfest Band. The festival traces its roots to 1810 and this marks the second year in Rio Rancho.
