Preliminary hearing set for former DPS officer Schlachter
Rio Rancho DPS lieutenant and stepson of DPS Director Haycox faces seven counts of criminal sexual penetration and seven counts of criminal sexual contact tied to alleged incidents with a 12 year old girl in 1988 89. The magistrate ordered a trial after a Tuesday hearing in Bernalillo. the victim mother and detective testified and Schlachter acknowledged past remarks.
