Memorial Day Office Closures In Rio Rancho And Sandoval

Rio Rancho City Hall and Sandoval County offices close Monday May 29 for Memorial Day and reopen Tuesday morning. The Observer also notes holiday deadlines with display ads due by noon May 25 and classified ads by noon May 26. Press releases remain due by 5 p.m. Thursday.

Rio Rancho Memorial Day Parade Honors Veterans

Rio Rancho observes Memorial Day with a 15th annual parade starting at 10 a.m. Monday from Country Club Drive to Veterans Park near City Hall. Grand Marshal John Kay, guest speaker Luis Madrid, and judges include Capt. Robert Allen, Arturo Boniello, and Toby Geibig. A 11:30 a.m. service follows at Vista Verde Memorial Park. An 8:30 a.m. memorial service at St. Thomas Aquinas precedes the parade, with Buddy Poppy sales May 26-28 by VFW Post 5890 and auxiliary.
