Academy students launch math driven Angry Birds project at picnic
ASK Academy charter school students recreated an Angry Birds style launch in a real life contest at Haynes Park. Teams built catapults a crossbow and a dry ice cannon to hit a pig tower while applying algebra physics and engineering. Bohanna and Huston engineering firms funded the event.

Rio Rancho city councilors prepare to adopt a 51 million general fund budget for fiscal year 2013 and consider amendments including zoning for a 2 acre parcel near Unser Boulevard and 19th Street for a animal boarding facility. Also on agenda are Timbuctu at Mariposa beer and wine license approval, the 2013 18 Infrastructure and Capital Improvement Plan, a 1500 dollar U Haul trees gift, a truck traffic ban on High Resort Boulevard, and the second reading of a voter photo ID requirement after a Charter amendment approval.
