Courthouse closed after false bomb threat in Bernalillo

Sandoval County Sheriff's Office deputies and New Mexico State Police responded to a false bomb threat at the Bernalillo county courthouse Thursday morning. The call came just after 8 am, prompting evacuations and an interior sweep. No threat found, building reopened to the public by 10 am. caller identity unknown.

Rio Ranchoan gets nearly 6 years In prison

A 29-year-old Rio Rancho man, Mark Herrera, received 70 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to heroin trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Officers seized seven ounces of heroin, marijuana, $5,000 cash, a loaded pistol, and drug paraphernalia in 2014. Herrera admitted selling heroin semi-regularly and using a firearm for protection. case investigated by ATF, DEA, and Rio Rancho Police with HOPE Initiative involvement.

Rio Rancho Police arrest records list May to mid May charges

A long list shows multiple individuals charged or served with warrants in Rio Rancho from May 2 through May 13. Names include Dominick Garza Alicia Larson Dolores Lucero and many others with charges ranging from shoplifting and possession of controlled substances to DWI and battery. Many live at Walmart addresses or local neighborhoods and several warrants were served at homes or medical centers.
