Medicare Hospital Star Ratings Help Choose Care

Medicare now adds patient satisfaction star ratings to its Hospital Compare site to help consumers compare clinical outcomes, patient safety, and communication with doctors and nurses. Based on surveys from July 2013 to June 2014, 3,553 hospitals earned stars nationwide, with New Mexico hospitals averaging 2.8 stars and several named facilities listed with their scores.

City of Rio Rancho offers three day volunteer tree steward workshop

The City of Rio Rancho Parks Department and Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful invite adults 18 and older to train as tree stewards over three sessions starting Saturday at LINM West 2600 College Blvd City Center. Volunteers register by calling 896 8389 and commit to a year of duties including park visits pruning planting reporting vandalism and water issues. Since 2011 more than 95 stewards have been certified.

Wiggins Bootstrap at ABQid Accelerator program
