Wayne Rancho’s Parks and Recreation hosts the sixth annual Eggs N Beggin Dog Parade and Costume Contest at Cabézon Recreation Center 2307 Cabezon Blvd starting 10 a.m. Rio Rancho Animal Control and Pet Food Gone Wild co sponsor. entrants pay with unopened pet food or litter. paraders must register by 10. parade at noon. dogs leashed and vaccinated. city staff approves eligibility. for questions call 892 2915.
The international film To Kill a Man screens at 2 p.m. with Spanish and English subtitles, followed by a short Our Blood from Romanso Cine. The story follows a father driven to take justice after his son is killed by a mugger, amid family danger and a brief probationary period for the killer.
California native Christina Blanco known as KrisCut headlines The Stage at Ana Star Casino at 9 p m. She rose from 2002 scratch basics to expert turntablism and now spins as a resident DJ at Mandalay Bay Mix Nightclub in Las Vegas. Vegas Nights at The Stage features Sin City’s top resident DJs every Saturday.
The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino launches Escape Fridays with DJ Devin and Chris de Jesus spinning house pop hip-hop and EDM every Friday. Enjoy $4 drink specials and VIP amenities. Admission is $10 for men. women enter free with Facebook check-in. Doors open at 9 pm.
Placitas Community Library hosts a March quilt show featuring six Placitas quilters in celebration of National Quilting Month. Featured artist Judith Roderick presents Busy Iris Garden and Sunny Day, linking silk painting to her hand stitched quilts with button embellishments. NM quilters donate over 750 quilts annually to nonprofits and raffles. Placitas Library sits at 453 NM 165, five miles east of I 25.
A display of New Deal era public artwork from New Mexico artists and Dorothea Lange photographs runs through March 31 at Loma Colorado Main Library. Coronado Historic Site hosts Pueblo Byways featuring Dorothy Dunn collection watercolors with artists Vidal Casiquito Jr. Gilbert Atencio Pablita Velarde and Elino Shiye Herrera. the show runs until February 2016 with site admission.
