New Mexico Legislature Ends Quiet, Shabby Session
The New Mexico legislature wrapped a 30 day odd year session with no General Appropriations Act or severance tax bond bill passing. Although no tax increase occurred, projected revenue near 50 million remained, and several laws passed including child pornography ban and DWI reform. The governor plans a special session to seek tax increases and budget expansion.
