Sparklers ground and hand held and smoke emiting fireworks face ground restrictions with water nearby. All fireworks are banned in wild lands and display use is prohibited in minors areas.
Rio Rancho's gross receipts tax revenue to the general fund outpaced adjusted forecasts with May GRT distributions near 2.5 million, 178000 above forecast. Eleven months into the fiscal year GRT income is 9.8 percent higher than last year, on track to exceed the 6.7 percent growth estimate.
Joseph Harris Jr. joined 39 graduates of Class 190 at the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy ceremony held at the Santa Fe Indian School Pueblo Pavilion. His father Joe Harris Sr, a Sandoval County sheriff’s sergeant, was killed in the line of duty in July 2009 during an arrest in the Jemez Springs area.
