Earth First! to gather at Jemez Springs rendezvous

About 400 Earth First! members will converge near Jemez Springs for the 10th annual Round River Rendezvous June 18 25 along the Guadalupe River four miles west. They plan camps workshops and peace dances with Forest Service warning of possible civil disobedience and occasional monkey wrenching while insisting past actions were peaceful.

41 Entrants Prepare for Rio Rancho Soap Box Derby Trials

Forty one racers registered for the first Rio Rancho All American Soap Box Derby and will test run their cars Saturday June 17 at 10 am. Souther Boulevard between Lisbon and Baltic avenues will be blocked from 7 am until race day end. Major sponsors include Intel Corp AMREP Southwest Chevrolet and the City of Rio Rancho with many local sponsor pairs listed.
