Balderas calls multiagency team after Romero incident

Balderas seeks at least 12 agencies to join a Violent Crimes Review Team in response to Romero case and related failures. Felon in Possession of Firearm Sentenced in Albuquerque

Leandro Urioste 31 received five years in federal prison and five years supervised release for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking after a Bernalillo County traffic stop uncovered about 14 grams of methamphetamine and multiple firearms. Urioste acknowledged the gun was hidden in his dashboard and tied to illegal drug activity. The case was investigated by ATF Albuquerque and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office with AUSA Rumaldo Armijo leading prosecution.
