Rio Rancho DPS seeks recognition as a bargaining unit
Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety officers have filed a petition with the city to form a collective bargaining unit. The Rio Rancho DPS Officers Association, led by Michael Pelligrini, gathered about 45 of 52 eligible members to back recognition. The city ordinance allows one public safety and one municipal unit, with elections within 45 days and a city Labor Management Relations Board to validate the process.

AMREP lawsuit settled over Discovery Series homes
The state AG's office announced a settlement with AMREP Southwest on a 1990 suit alleging 200 Discovery Series homes in the Vista Hills subdivision were built with inadequately treated wood. AMREP will test and replace noncompliant wood, install a shield and drainage, and notify eligible homeowners for free inspection. The Sandoval County District Court approved the agreement.
