Stand-up trio headlines Santa Ana Star Stage July 30

Dave Waite Kate Brindle and Keith Breckenridge perform individually at The Stage Santa Ana Star Casino. Waite, a Midwest comic noted as a comic’s comic, has appeared on Comedy Central and Bob and Tom. Brindle, a former New York theater student turned comedian, delivers sass and sarcasm. Breckenridge, a New Mexico staple, was runner-up for Best Comedian in 2012 Albuquerque The Magazine. Doors open 6:30 p.m. and show starts 7:30.

David & Co. to perform at Santa Ana Star Lounge 54

Santa Ana Star Casino hosts R&B act David & Co led by David Nufiez at Lounge 54 at 9 p.m. and again after UFC 190 on Saturday. Nufiez brings 40 years in the music business, touring with B B King Chicago The Neville Brothers and Tower of Power. Koala Records signed the group in 1976 after which their vinyl sold over 80 000 copies. Admission is free and guests must be 21 or older.

Corrales Art in the Park Brings Local Art and Food Fun

A Sunday family event in Corrales features paintings photography fiber art glass and woodwork along with live music by the Red Light Ramblers and The Buckerettes. Local galleries galleries and wine loop partner with food trucks and coffee van for a day of free activities and promotional discounts.

Art exhibit highlights Alan Yablonsky at Placitas Library

Placitas Community Library hosts an art exhibit by lifelong artist and teacher Alan Yablonsky through July 31. The New Jersey native worked across oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite, and airbrush, teaching publicly and at colleges and museums. He lived in Placitas while focusing on regional pastel landscapes and travel to capture Southwest light and color. His work was featured in New Mexico Magazine in April 2004. the library is located 5 miles east of I 25 on NM 165.

Pueblo Byways Returns to Coronado Historic Site

August 1 features Dorothy Dunn collection prints from the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe at Coronado Historic Site after construction. It highlights works by Vidal Casiquito Jr, Gilbert Atencio, Pablita Velarde, and Velino Shije Herrera. Model trains, farmers market, live music, wellness talks, and casino events accompany the gallery display.

Free Summer Movie Night at Cabezon Park in Rio Rancho

The City of Rio Rancho invites residents to Cabezon Park for a free outdoor family friendly movie on July 31 at dusk. Placitas Library Hosts Opening of Art Exhibit

The exhibit opens Saturday and runs to August 27 with a Sunday reception August 16 from 2 to 4 pm honoring the artists. Xeric Garden Club Hosts Free Garden Tour in Albuquerque

The Xeric Garden Club offers a free guided tour of its certified wildlife habitat garden at Albuquerque Garden Center on 10120 Lomas Blvd NE. The program on Monday August 3 at 10 am features the four habitat requirements, five xeric trees, and watering tips. Kids can enjoy bee origami, face painting, leaf prints, and pollinator activity sheets with adult supervision.
