Unit 16 West redevelopment plan troubles property owners
Rio Rancho moves to adopt a redevelopment plan affecting about 600 property owners across 831 acres. The city would buy privately owned land and re sell it to large scale developers for residential and limited commercial use. School district seeks fair share of APS surplus funds
The Rio Rancho and Albuquerque Public Schools districts could share APS surpluses totaling about 8.5 million dollars. Rio Rancho could receive over 500 thousand dollars if the 6 percent of APS students from Rio Rancho is used to allocate funds under the 1993 Order of Creation. Paradise Hills mural project on historic boxcar
Anthony Romero and other youths spend the summer painting a mural at Paradise Hills Community Center. A former railroad boxcar used for storage now serves as a canvas with dozens of individual paintings on one side and a mountain scene planned for the opposite wall.
