Rio Rancho District 5 Councilor Tim Crum invites District 5 residents and others to a 7 15 to 8 15 p m gathering at Cabezon Community Center 2307 Cabezon Blvd The purpose is to discuss the Aug 20 municipal special election and issues around it Crum plans no voter guidance during the meeting but will answer questions and share why he backed delaying the tax vote A yes vote on Aug 20 would cut the local higher education facilities sales tax in half In parallel District 1 Councilor Chuck Wilkins backs an ordinance to fund a new eighth percent gross receipts tax for police and fire services if the tax is approved and Crum says he would support that ordinance
