Rio Rancho teen killed as 14-year-old held in homicide case

The Rio Rancho shooting left 15-year-old William Rider Jr. dead from a single gunshot. Police arrested 14-year-old Paul Lithgow at the scene and held him at the Santa Fe Detention Center as investigators probe whether the death was accidental or intentional. District Attorney Mike Runnels noted Lithgow will be treated as a delinquent child under the new juvenile code, the first case of its kind under the updated rules.

ARPS Receives Keys from APS and Jemez Valley Leaders

Rio Rancho Moves to Redevelop Blighted Loma Colorado Site

City Council blamed blight on nearly 300 acres and approved a redevelopment plan uniting it with 160 acres already owned to create a focal point for education recreation and culture. The plan envisions purchasing the private land then selling about 80 acres, including land for a future high school for Rio Rancho Public Schools.

District receives $500,000 for Rio Rancho schools upgrade

The Critical Capital Outlay Committee allocated 500000 for Bio Rancho school needs in Rio Rancho. Rio Rancho Public Schools sought 7.0 mile low to upgrade Mountain View Middle, which lacks a library gymnasium and cafeteria. The money covers part of a core facility but is insufficient to complete the project.

County budget tops 19 million dollars for 1994 95

The Sandoval County Commission and administration approve a preliminary 1994 95 budget of 19.6 million dollars with projected revenue around 22 million. Funds are allocated to a general fund roads and maintenance gilf finda and reserve accounts with future bond potential and district comparisons noted.
