Campus Dam project transforms campus flood control
CNM builds an outdoor classroom area with a new Campus Dam open space trail loop and pedestrian bridge upstream of the arroyo. The $1.8 million project uses earth detention basins and soil cement embankments to blend with the environment and cut peak flow from a 100-year storm from 1480 CFS to about 510 CFS. Funds come from SSCAFCA bonds, the New Mexico Water Trust Board and the Legs. The dam finishes by month end.
