City to inform voters about March election

City officials plan to inform voters about charter amendments on the March 6 ballot. City Clerk Roman Montoya and spokesman Peter Wells outlined a multifaceted campaign including TV talk show, public service announcements, civic club outreach, a BioVision scroll, and newspaper election guides to reach about 34,000 water and non water customers. The February meeting also noted the city will buy equipment to remove snow and lay down sand.

Taste of Rio Rancho marks second annual food event

The Rio Rancho CVB backs a Taste of Rio Rancho on Saturday at the Santa Ana Star Center. A New Mexico Mustangs hockey game adds entertainment the same night. A $5 entry covers both events with at least 16 local eateries sampling wares, plus a dedicated area for beer and wine. Matt Geisel highlights diverse, strong local restaurants contributing to the showcase.

Eisenstadt’s memoir reveals NM politics from inside

Pauline Eisenstadt, longtime Corrales resident and former legislator, releases A Woman in Both Houses My Career in New Mexico Politics from University of New Mexico Press. The memoir reflects a dozen years in Santa Fe detailing how politics works and why she chose to write. She credits husband Mel and a UNM Press editor for shaping the book during six months of work.
