West Mesa Radar Site eyed for Solar Energy Institute
Arthur Brown of the West Side Association urges Albuquerque area as the site for a National Solar Energy Research Institute. Governor Apodaca and New Mexico's delegation promoted the bid, backed by Sandia, Los Alamos, NM Tech, NMSU, and UNM. The plan includes a 16 000 square foot Sandia building and aims to leverage the region's solar potential and nearby energy resources.
