Sandoval County keeps personnel ordinance in effect says county attorney

County attorney states the personnel ordinance remains active after a January 19 claim of suspension by the Sandoval County Commission. Minutes show a suspension vote before a 7:30 p.m. recess, with Valencia arguing the action was illegal and the ordinance still stands. He advised that suspension by motion was not legal, and only a repeal or formal suspension via ordinance could validly change it. The commission plans to resume discussion at the next meeting, seeking workable hearing procedures and a board to handle grievances, while noting reorganized exemptions for several county roles.

Candelaria Bridge Bill Aims West Mesa Link Review

District 44 Representative Richard Kloeppel introduced a bill to build a river crossing from Candelaria to the west mesa. The measure, reviewed by the House taxation and revenue committee, follows earlier protests over Corrales corridor widening and cites traffic relief as a motive. He backs El Pueblo corridor first, then Corrales widening, then the north south arterial, with possible funding from the highway department.
