Baja Annexation Suit Targets Village Authority

Twenty six Baja residents led by Mike London and others filed suit in Beralilto County District Court on February 2 seeking injunctive relief and damages for alleged civil rights violations tied to the Baja Annexation. Plaintiffs accuse the Village mayor and council of improper notice and maps, creating islands of unincorporated property, gerrymandering, and denial of due process and equal protection. They seek a temporary restraining order and a permanent injunction, plus costs and attorney fees. As of February 8 the TRO was denied.
