Former MMA fighter Tommy Truex aids Roadrunner Food Bank drive
Truex, a 3/95th Signal Training Battalion Army Reserve soldier and actor, led his unit in packing and palletizing over 16,000 pounds of nonperishable food for Roadrunner Food Bank during Christmas. Roadrunner and Feeding America note high local hunger, with volunteers invaluable to sorting and packing, while Truex juggles Desert Forge Fitness, reserves duties, and acting credits including Edge and stunts in Longmire and A Million Ways to Die in the West.

SSCAFCA Bridge To Improve Arroyo Walkway For Students
The project, funded by the Federal Highway Administration under the Transportation Alternative Program, carries a bid of 281000 dollars. The new bridge near Maggie Cordova will let local students cross the arroyo safely on the way to school. SSCAFCA member Thomas recalled the idea after first visiting the site and seeing a father with a child in a pink helmet riding a four wheeler near the arroyo. Mackay notes it reduces travel time for walkers and may enable teachers to accompany students for exercise and safety.
