Intel discusses a 1.5 billion expansion at Fab 9 Rio Rancho to extend the plant life five years and house the Pentina processor with over three million transistors. Production is slated to begin in 1995, supporting future microprocessors while Fab 9 remains the largest clean room. The site already accounts for half of Intel's revenue and 70 percent of profits.
