Sonny Ann Flynn of Rio Rancho died December 4, 2015 while visiting Florida. Survived by husband Kevin Jack, daughter Joann Brake, son Jack, and 10 grandchildren. Born in Taiwan, she married a U S Air Force member, lived across Europe Asia and the United States. Cremation planned with remains to be reunited at Arlington National Cemetery later. Services are pending.

Rio Rancho Ballot Combines Charter Amendments To Vote
City voters will decide multiple charter amendments including salary increases for 2018 and 2020 council terms and a tie vote mechanism for a mayor. The measure failed 3-2 last November but moved to the March ballot after four council members supported placing it on the ballot. If approved, a $9 million bond would fund roughly $200 million in road projects over five years, raising a $100,000 home’s tax by about $7.30 annually for two years.
