Balzano enters Rio Rancho District 6 council race

Cris Balzano 30 a Hewlett Packard consultant and multilingual veteran launched a bid for the District 6 Rio Rancho Governing Body seat in the March 1 municipal election. He noted his international experience and business focus, joining door-to-door outreach to address constituent concerns. Incumbent Lonnie Clayton and ex-councilor David Bency are also running.

Jimenez Seeks District 4 Sandoval County Seat

Alexis Jimenez a Democrat and Rio Rancho resident announced her bid for the District 4 seat on the Sandoval County Commission. She lists extensive local service and education background and calls for healthcare access, responsible economic development, and living wage jobs. Incumbent Glenn Walters cannot run due to term limits. Dave Heil also seeks the seat. primary is in June.

Free Thursday concert at Sabana Grande Community Center

Two bands perform at Sabana Grande Community Center Rio Rancho on Thursday at 7 p.m. Admission is free. The Rio Rancho New Horizons Band directed by Ron Lipka and Frank Rivera will play patriotic Broadway Christmas and more. The High Desert Big Band directed by Frank Rivera will perform contemporary Christmas favorites at 4110 Sabana Grande Ave. in Rio Rancho.
