Resident arrested for porn photos
Rio Rancho man Nolan Hinahara age 51 has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of children after an investigation linked to an alleged murder attempt. Police say his daughter confronted him about porn in his bedroom on March 5 and he brandished a gun telling her to shoot him. He claimed the gun discharged while clearing a round. bullet hit the floor. FBI later retrieved 203 images from his computer.

Sandoval County undersheriff Tim Lucero says the area near Rio Rancho hosts frequent portable meth labs. A joint operation by the Sandoval County Sheriff's Department Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety and a DEA task force seized lab equipment west of Rio Rancho including glass condensers lye and solvents. The equipment was photographed and removed by a private hazardous waste firm under DEA contract.
