Andrew Rivers Keith Ellis and Eddie Tafoya perform solo at The Stage in Santa Ana Star Casino. Rivers, new to stand-up, has 300 plus shows in three years and tours nationwide with stories from life on the road in his Toyota big comfy tour bus. Ellis from a close knit neighborhood impressed with celebrity imitations and an open mic win without a script. Tafoya a New Mexico native uses local humor. he is an author and professor at New Mexico Highlands University. Doors open 6:30 p.m. and showtime is 7:30 p.m.

DCN Project to Perform at Lounge 54 in Santa Ana Tonight

Placitas Library hosts Ric Farrell travelogue on Trans-Siberian journey

Placitas resident Ric Farrell presents a 2 p.m. travelogue at Placitas Community Library about his month long Trans-Siberian train tour. He covers experiences aboard a private train with guides from Beijing, cultures of modern and ancient Mongolia, Soviet era eastern Siberian cities, encounters with Russian families, and highlights of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Q A follows. Library location is 453 NM 165, five miles east of I 25.

Placitas Library Hosts Center Painting Class Exhibit

Placitas Community Library displays paintings by the Placitas Community Center painting class taught by Elaine Slusher. Slusher, a retired professional artist, has exhibited in the Placitas Artists Series and other shows. The exhibit runs through Thursday at 453 NM 165, five miles east of I-25.

Wrangle a wreath craft night at Rio Rancho Library

Registration underway for an evening of crafting at Loma Colorado Main Library. From 6 to 7 30 p m on Wednesday Sept 2 attendees will create wreaths from pages of old books. Observer staff writer Gary Herron will discuss his Arcadia title Rio Rancho at 6 30 p m Thursday September 3 at Loma Colorado Main Library. The talk includes a video and reflections from the early days to 2014 with chapters on incorporation schools Santa Ana Star Center and local treasures. Copies priced at 22 dollars with signings to follow.
