Rio Rancho approves Los Diamantes plan for unit 10 site
The Rio Rancho Governing Body unanimously approved last week a 180 acre Los Diamantes site in Unit 10 south of Southern Boulevard and west of Unser Boulevard. The plan includes a 60 acre business park 450 residential homes a community park and a pond. Excalibur Realty represents AB Southwest LLC. The project aims to lure 1500 to 2000 economic base jobs with bids from call centers medical tech firms and warehouses aided by the Sandoval Economic Alliance.

The Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho will name the new cancer center for Ted and Margaret Jorgensen after their 2.5 million donation to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. The gift funds patient services and staff development as the first phase of a 19 million tower opening in November.

Four workers critically hurt in Rio Rancho scaffolding collapse
Jessica Duran Martinez said four workers suffered critical injuries and four non life threatening injuries after scaffolding fell on the fifth floor. One worker died. Presbyterian notified families by 4 p.m. Tuesday. Rescue teams extricated patients and transported them to hospitals. all 238 workers were released pending investigations by McCarthy and OSHA.
