West Side Council Opposes Coors Corridor Study

In a report adopted by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, the West Side Council and Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce oppose the Coors Corridor Study. They call for a comprehensive traffic study, inclusion of sector plans, updated population forecasts, and alignment with East Atrisco and other plans before any public hearings. They criticize the plan for not adequately addressing future growth, traffic, and environmental controls.

Corrales Planning OKs Two Subdivision Proposals

Corrales planning commission gave preliminary nods to two subdivisions at the north end, La Tierra Dulce for 18 lots on Marcos Lane east of Corrales Road, and Gutierrez annexation for nine lots on about 10 acres on the west mesa near Rio Rancho Unit 7. They favored both concepts but questioned access routes and traffic impact, while Espat sought a restaurant on a Corrales Road site with caution from officials. A special meeting on a proposed new sign ordinance is set for August 16, with a council hearing planned for August 23.
