Non-profit to rename groups amid reform efforts
New Mexico nonprofit Best Choice Educational Services and its sister group New Mexico Marriages First Project pursue a name change to The Youth Lifeline and The Marriage Lifeline under The Family Lifeline. Executive director Tony Oliva says the aim is a fresh identity while continuing mission work, with a Sept. 22 event at Park Plaza Hotel tying fundraising to marital enrichment and laughter. FBI interest and past leadership changes loom, but staff push for renewed teamwork and stability as state and federal approvals target the rebranding.
