Street dance kicks off Rio Rancho Civic Day celebrations
Beverly Merrick publicity director describes the Fourth of July parade kickoff with information booths. Events run Friday night at Haynes Park 8 p.m. to midnight with 50s and 60s music, a 6 a.m. Saturday Grande Mile registration for the run, and a 7 a.m. start. Pre-register at Mesa Rental Center or by mail to Rio Rancho Civic Day. Entry is 5 dollars pre registered, 6 dollars on race day. The course starts and ends at Haynes Park on Grands Boulevard. A bed race, a mattress surprise, a raffle with prizes including a garage door opener and six months of waste service, and a Cadillac Bob and The Runestones performance are planned. Cake walk donations and contact details are listed.
