The Rev. James T. Burke, pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, is transferred to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Taos. Burke, ordained in 1950, has led parishes across New Mexico, overseen a major church enlargement, and helped grow the Rio Rancho parish from 1,000 to 2,200 families. A reception was held in his honor, and a new St. Thomas pastor arrives in August.
