New Mexico Exhibit Highlights Life and Lore in the Land of Enchantment
A photo showcase titled A Year or So in the Life of New Mexico opens at Loma Colorado Main Library Auditorium this month. Rick Carver conceived the book with Stacy Pearl and more than 50 photographers, aiming to depict unseen aspects of the state from Rio Grande minnows to Roller Derby fashion, with proceeds supporting the Esperanza Shelter. The project grew from ideas in 2009 to a 2010 coverage effort and book production with Pearl, promoting fundraising through sales. The display sits alongside notes on Coelophysis, the state fossil highlighted in Dinosaur Century at the NM Museum of Natural History and Science.
