Mayors urge special session for New Mexico capital outlay
More than 40 mayors including Rio Rancho’s Gregg Hull and Albuquerque’s Richard Berry added their names to calls urging Gov Susana Martinez to convene a special session to pass a $264 million capital outlay bill. A follow up letter drew 44 more signers as lawmakers failed to approve funding during the regular session.

Rio Rancho Police Win Fifth Straight Regional Motorcycle Meet
The Rio Rancho Police Department Traffic Unit won the Southwest Regional Police Motorcycle Training Competition for the fifth consecutive year. The April 17-18 event in Phoenix raised funds for Special Olympics. Gaspar Garcia topped 150 riders as fastest overall, also winning the BMW class. Jerremy Manzanares and Justin L Garcia followed. The BMW paired ride went to Justin L Garcia and Cody Roberts, with Roberts second in the BMW slow ride. Rick Salgado was part of the team.
