RRPD honors officers and civilians at awards ceremony

Rio Rancho Police Department recognized officers civilians and civilians at Cleveland High School for extended service years lifesaving actions and notable acts. The ceremony highlighted multiple staff including Deputy Chief Gary Wisen Captain Jason Bowie Lieutenant Kenneth Willey and many others with years of service from five to twenty five years. Hood re-indicted in death of Rio Rancho girl

A Sandoval County grand jury re indicted 36 year old Jay Chee Hood in the death of 3 year old Addelina Hood following a May 2014 incident in Rio Rancho. Hood faces one count of child abuse resulting in death and potential life in prison if convicted. The April 9 indictment used new jury instructions after a Supreme Court ruling voided earlier wording.
