Mayor Jolli ff Laid To Rest In Richwood Funeral

Mayor J L Jolliff of Richwood died Friday evening after prolonged illness. At 2 p.m. Sunday a large Opera House funeral honored the late leader, attended by Knights Templar, I O O F, Masons, and village officials. Bazar by Presbyterian Endeavorers Raises Over $600

New York Cash Store Owners Charles and Bessie Koffenstein Declare Bankruptcy

Charles and Bessie Koffenstein, operators of the New York Cash store, filed voluntary bankruptcy last week. Local creditors list claims including C. E. Wharton 335 dollars, Bell Bros. 120, A. J. Hare 83.15, Shearer & Shearer 73.85, Union Bank 59, Dr. A. B Swisher 50, Dr. C. D. Mille 6, with total debts over 5000. Assets catalogued as 1700 in goods, 333 in household items, and a 1000 life policy with 50 paid. from this, 500 is exempt for the bankrupts, leaving little for creditors. Creditors meet March 14 to prove claims.

Dam Breaks After Ice Boom Destroys Timber Mill

A timber mill dam at Unionville on Big Darby was torn down Thursday night by an ice cake 200 feet wide and 600 feet long raised by rising creek water. The flood destroyed the dam, wiping out water flow that powered the Deeds and Kimbrough grist mill and supplied water for the P C C and St L E B R. The proprietors face reconstruction costs over 1200 dollars and a $750 railroad water station agreement. Water was pumped from a 13 inch pipe over half a mile away.

Meeting on proposed ministry company to be organized

Last night a meeting was held in the Mayor's office to discuss organizing a ministry company here. A good audience heard the discussion and a follow up meeting was set for Wednesday evening March 13 at the same place. The note urges attendance to support the boys. Fire destroys Owen Station depot and grain elevator in Marion

A fire about 2:30 Tuesday morning destroyed the Hocking Valley depot at Owen Station in Marion county and an elevator holding 2500 bushels of grain. The blaze began in the depot. Additionally, Rev. I J Cahill of Dayton will lecture March 14 at the Richwood Opera House on Peter's Wife's Mother under the Tourists' Club to aid charitable funds. Also noted, rural carrier W A Phelps received a share of fresh strawberries from Congressman Warnock, who is in Washington D C.

Accident on East Bomford street ends near tragedy

Mrs Wheeler and daughter Mrs McBride, residents of East Bomford street, returned from Dean West Virginia last week. While cleaning their house on Tuesday this week Mrs Wheeler attempted to polish a stove with gasoline and polish mixture. A spark ignited the mixture and her dress caught fire burning the waist severely. A quick intervention saved her from a fatal outcome.
