Dam Breaks After Ice Boom Destroys Timber Mill
A timber mill dam at Unionville on Big Darby was torn down Thursday night by an ice cake 200 feet wide and 600 feet long raised by rising creek water. The flood destroyed the dam, wiping out water flow that powered the Deeds and Kimbrough grist mill and supplied water for the P C C and St L E B R. The proprietors face reconstruction costs over 1200 dollars and a $750 railroad water station agreement. Water was pumped from a 13 inch pipe over half a mile away.

Accident on East Bomford street ends near tragedy
Mrs Wheeler and daughter Mrs McBride, residents of East Bomford street, returned from Dean West Virginia last week. While cleaning their house on Tuesday this week Mrs Wheeler attempted to polish a stove with gasoline and polish mixture. A spark ignited the mixture and her dress caught fire burning the waist severely. A quick intervention saved her from a fatal outcome.
