Skidmore son of Dorothy and the late John O Skidmore 288 S Franklin Sr earned the Distinguished Flying Cross for leading a UH 1F helicopter team to rescue an 18 man recon unit near Song Be Vietnam He directed escort gunships to cover the withdrawal and prevent allied losses He also earned Air Medals and an Air Force Commendation Medal for service with the 20th Special Operations Squadron at Nha Trang and as a B 52 pilot at Griffin AFB New York He is a Richwood High School and Ohio State University graduate married to Nancy Evans

Richwood police charged Duane Gruber, 18, of Rt. 3 with peeling and fleeing an officer after a cruiser pursuit ended in a crash on Delaware County Rd 180. Gruber appeared in Mayor's Court July 2 and later pleaded guilty in Delaware Court to reckless operation, fined 25 dollars with costs and six month license suspension.
