Slaughter House Fire Destroys East Pearl Street Building
A fire last Thursday night consumed a building east of Pearl Street owned by W. C. Woods, formerly a slaughter house now used as a barn. Feed and butcher tools were lost. building and contents were insured. Spectators watched as a prize drawing on the square distracted from firefighting. The blaze went unnoticed until beyond saving. the truck arrived but could not water the blaze.
