Town Council Enacts Budget Cuts Amid Tax Losses

The famed bell buzzard, seen yearly in the area, was spotted last week on the J. M. Gunder farm near Summersville by H. O. Gunder. He approached within about thirty feet and observed the bell around its neck clearly, the closest anyone has been to the bird in years.

New Electric Road Proposed From Wapakoneta to Columbus

The plan envisions an electric road from Wapakoneta through Kenton and Roundhead to Columbus. Farmers and others are contributing generously to push the project forward. A Richwood option would create a near air line from Kenton through Richwood to Columbus, passing through a densely populated area.

Patterson Commencement Honors Local Graduates

The Patterson graduates of Claiborne township held commencement at the clerk's office on Thursday afternoon June 15. Esther Wilcox presented Ballad of the Winning Hand, Sterling Graham spoke on The Boyhood of Lincoln, and Ruth Kinney recited A Confidence. The event was led by former teacher Miss Edith McPherson, praised as a top educator in northern Union county.

Y M C A Convention and Banquet at Marysville

Pleasant Birthday Party for Lee Davis Near York

Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Davis hosted about 45 young people at their country home two miles east of York on Monday evening for Lee Davis's 20th birthday. The lawn featured red and white Japanese lanterns, with matching house decorations. Guests enjoyed music and games, then ice cream cake and bananas before departing, all wishing Lee many more such birthdays.

State Encampment in Lorain Highlights Veterans Event

A grand state encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic and allied groups unfolds in Lorain Ohio this week with a gala opening Tuesday. Gov Harmon and notable figures including Senators Pomerene and Burton will speak as Livingstone Post members and others attend. Frank Noe of College Springs Iowa died at the Park hotel Magnetic Springs after eleven days of treatment. He was fifty seven, unmarried, and suffered organic heart trouble. His remains were shipped to College Springs on Wednesday with his sister Mrs Georgiana Noe Brown.

Wild cat killed near Middleburg after terrorizing region

Eli Norveil of Middleburg shot and killed a wild cat that had terrorized Middleburg Raymond Peoria and nearby areas. The animal, 28 inches long and 14 inches tall with striped body and long claws, was seen Saturday afternoon and displayed in Middleburg on Sunday.

A Marion group visiting Richwood were heavily beaten 18 to 2 by the home team. About 300 spectators enjoyed the match before the visitors left by the Erie railroad for Marion.
