Fifty years ago on June 20 1895 Tea Rose a fine throughbred filly belonging to Dr W B Duke was found dead in her paddock with no marks of violence and unknown cause. Friends of Mrs Joseph Kirby celebrated her 35th birthday at her east of town home. Emery White and wife of Jackson township welcomed a twelve pound boy on June 15. John Martin turned twenty one with a planned birthday surprise from close friends.
