Miss Polly Jo Allen Weds Mr. Robert L. Green

The First Methodist Church in Richwood hosted the June 15 wedding of Polly Jo Allen daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert F Allen to Robert Le Green son of Mr and Mrs A Green of Indianapolis The ceremony featured a double ring rite with Bach Franck and Greig selections and a bridal gown of embossed nylon tulle over satin The couple planned a reception in the church parlors Guests traveled from Indiana Missouri Kentucky Michigan and Ohio to witness the ceremony and a post wedding visit to Frankfort Kentucky.

Hereford Association Adds Junior Members

Kansas City Missouri junior member Jon Davis Jr. of Richwood Ohio joined the American Hereford Association. The association lists 68 junior breeders on the official roster for May and maintains records for over 80,000 registered Herefords nationwide. In the last fiscal year the association recorded 430,951 purebred calves, with Hereford registrations nearly double those of other major beef breeds.

Central Methodist W S C S Meets At Church

The W S C S of Central Methodist Church met Wednesday afternoon June 1 in the church annex with Miss Selah Clark presiding. Devotions by Mrs Edith Warren opened with scripture from St Luke St John and the Upper Room. The program by Mrs Alta Marvin covered March of Missions followed by poems and prayers.

The Erwin family gathered at the Herman Holloway home on North Franklin Street for Father’s Day. Attending were Mr and Mrs Clifford Tanner and children Elma Jane Larry and Nancy. Polls Set for June 20 Wheat Quota Referendum

Polls will be open June 20 for a farmers referendum on marketing quotas for the 1959 wheat crop. Voting places include Union County and York Township locations with hours 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eligible voters are growers with over 15 acres of wheat in 1959, excluding 1958 feed wheat participants who may plant up to 30 acres on their farm. If two thirds vote yes, quotas stay and price support tops $1.81 per bushel. if not, price support is about $1.20 per bushel.

Auto Crash Injures Two In Kent Intersection

Mr and Mrs Harry Brown were taken to San Antonio Hospital in Kent after a Tuesday night collision at the West Ottawa and Fulton Street intersection. William Randall, traveling from the north, collided with the Brown car traveling east. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage. Night Police Officer James Alkire investigated.

Park Board Dances for Teenagers and Swimming Lessons

A third class of beginners' swimming lessons starts Thursday June 19 from 12:00 to 1:00. Unregistered participants may sign up at the lake ticket window. Teen-agers dances occur each Thursday 8:00 to 10:00 in the lake shelter under Park Board supervision. Admission 25 cents. First dance June 19.

Peet Suffers Hip Break in Fall Near Richwood

Ralph C. Peet fell at his home southwest of Richwood early last Thursday and broke his hip. He was taken to Jane M. Case Hospital in Delaware by Ballinger ambulance and underwent surgery Friday. His room is 212.

Allen Staneart Allen Staneart Nuptials Solemnized in Athens

Miss Marilyn Gustava Staneart daughter of Cecil Staneart and the late Maxine Allen Staneart of Albany Ohio and Noel Robert Allen son of Mr and Mrs Robert F Allen of Richwood were married Friday June 6 in the First Methodist Church Athens at 430 pm Rev John Koontz officiated. The bride wore nylon tulle gown and she carried a white Bible topped with roses. The ceremony featured traditional wedding music by Catherine Davis and vocal by Sally Allen.

About 2000 Farm Bureau Co op staff and members in Columbus previewed the Identification Emblem for Farm Bureau Cooperatives in Ohio. Attendees viewed the emblem on trucks and products and heard talks by executives including Kenneth N. Probasco and Fred McLaughlin. Public introduction is planned for August at the Ohio State Fair exhibit.
