Ninth Annual Summer Lawn Show Promises Wide Poultry Display

The Central Ohio Poultry Club hosts the Ninth Annual Summer Lawn Show on Sunday June 21 at the Richwood fairgrounds with judging at 10:00 a.m. Exhibitors from across the country expected to enter about 600 birds. Prizes include grand and best of breed trophies, two vases for top exhibitor and distance, a beauty bird prize, and club member rabbits for top young exhibitor. trophies on display at Thomasson Hardware Store.

Milford Baby Shower Honors Miss Phyllis Louise Erwin

Mrs Louis Erwin of Milford Center celebrated the birth of Miss Phyllis Louise Erwin with a June 13 shower at Mrs Pats Osborne home. Joyce Hamilton, the honorees former name, received a red rose corsage and guests enjoyed contests with prizes. Co hosts were Mrs Ellen Speyer and Mrs Tomia Lowe.

Bride Elect Honored With Shower In Early June

Saturday, June 6, a miscellaneous shower honoring Miss Lois Ann Fisher was held at the home of Miss Georgene Finkbone in Columbus. Richwood guests included the bride elect’s mother and several local women. A second shower occurred June 5 at the home of Mrs. Anita Davis with coronation as the theme.

Vocational Home Ec Teachers Meet At Ohio State

The Ohio Vocational Home Economics teachers gathered June 8 to 12 on the Ohio State University campus. They updated members on plastics research from the Ohio Experimental Station at Wooster and new teaching methods for family relationships and Bishop sewing techniques. Leesburg Grange Honors Graduates Class of '53

At the Leesburg Grange meeting on June 11 officers answered roll call and a deceased brother Warren Braithwait was mourned. The June 26 social on the schoolhouse lawn and a July booster night were announced, with gifts presented to seven graduates and plans for a float in the Richwood Fair discussed.

Richwood Speedway Feature Sees Church Edges Hedges

Jim Church narrowly beat Jack Hedges for the Richwood feature win on Friday night. Both drivers are from Delaware. Heat races were won by Jim Hamilton and Jim Reece, with Church of Delaware among top pursuers. The track at Richwood fairgrounds runs Tuesdays and Fridays.

Union Theatre Chief to Grant Tickets for Richwood Parade

Mr. Jerry Anderson of the Union Theatre will personally present theater passes to every participant under 18 in the Richwood fair parades on September 5 and 6. The McKendree W S C S of York Center met at Virginia Brown's home on Thursday June 11 with Alberta Foos as assistant hostess. Alma Romeli led the meeting. Dorothy Geho sang The Haven of Rest. Carolyn Davis gave devotions from Luke 6. Thirteen members attended. Mrs Bomell thanked members, Dorothy Wiley became president and announced a picnic at Prospect Park. The W S C S of Central Methodist Church met last Wednesday afternoon with Selah Clark in charge. Seventeen members attended, plans made for a September rummage sale and a June 27 ice cream social, mystery sisters drawn, devotions led by Helen Smith, and a short program.

Last Thursday the Church of Christ hosted a Birthday Tea with roses and peonies adorning the rostrum.
