Boy Dragged 300 Feet by Cow Injures Emerson Family Farm
Emerson, son of Mr and Mrs Okey Hall, north of Jefferson on Fitzgerald farm, suffered severe bruises when a cow dragged him 300 feet during milking Friday night. The cow panicked after a tail tug and runoff across the pasture left Emerson unconscious with mud and torn clothing. Dr Evans treated him and reports say the boy's condition is much improved.

Fire Destroys Large Barn Near Richwood
A large barn owned by P. M. Welch three miles east of Richwood burned Monday night with a calf saved by Welch. Fire started in the haymow, origin unknown. The Prospect fire department helped save the house and outbuildings, but the barn and its contents valued at about 10 000 dollars were a total loss. Losses included auto, tractor, truck, corn husker, manure spreader, hay loader, plows and more, partially insured. Corn nearby scorched, silo damaged, and hay consumed.

Mrs Ella Landon Dies Suddenly in Marysville
Ella Landon who once lived in Richwood died suddenly at her Marysville home after a brief pneumonia illness Wednesday night. She was married in 1867 to Samuel Landon who was killed in 1886 in Milford Center when a railroad collision sent a car onto him. Funeral services were held Saturday with Rev. Hugh S. Evans officiating. burial followed at Prospect Cemetery.

William Elmore Norris died Sunday at his LaRue area home from a cerebral hemorrhage after a two year illness. Born July 27, 1849 in Cardington, he was nearly 72. He married Ellen Emmons in 1878. survived by two daughters Mrs. George Raub and Miss Natella Norris. a brother Charles Norris of Delaware. Funeral Tuesday at 2 pm at the Methodist church. Rev. J. W. Horne officiated. burial in LaRue cemetery.

Road Blow Up On Leesburg Pike Forded By Beams
Heat causes a five foot wide section of brick paving on the Leesburg pike near the McLean farm to lift and creep forward half a mile in both directions. Vehicles were forced to pass along the beams at the road edge as the surface expanded under the sun. The dull roar of the blow up was reported by the Washington D. C. Herald.

Rainbow Vets Form Chapter at Marysville
A Rainbow Veterans chapter was organized in Marysville by Co. E of the 166th Infantry.
