Petitioners plan a June 15 filing with the Union County School Board to put a four district school consolidation question on the November ballot. A canvass across Richwood Leesburg Magnetic Washing ton York and Northwestern districts yielded broad opposition to consolidation due to taxes longer trips and desire for alternatives. The Richwood Chamber of Commerce and local citizens back a plan aiming for about 2600 signatures with just under 1600 needed to qualify.

Paul Leslie DeBolt was fatally injured after a street brawl on West Grove Street Richwood following an argument with William Woodrow. He died Saturday at University Hospital Columbus after autopsy findings cited ruptured middle cerebral artery and head injury linked to the altercation. Authorities reported charges of manslaughter against Woodrow. bond set at 200 dollars. DeBolt's funeral was held Tuesday at Ballinger Funeral Home with burial in Clai etery.
