Clouds and a cold wind failed to dampen a large turnout of about 1500 former pupils teachers and families at the Richwood grade school for a homecoming. J S Collier led the event with tireless effort, aided by committee chairs and volunteers, as old classmates registered and a display of early photos greeted guests. The Richwood Alumni Association held its annual banquet at First Baptist church with 152 alumni and guests. The Ladies Aid served dinner. Giles McDaniel led the program. performances by Mrs. Rolland Montgomery Miss Rachel White and others followed. The 1914 graduates were honored and the 1939 class staged a mock wedding. Officers elected by acclamation: Ralph Vestal president Kenneth Kyle vice president Mrs. Richard Langstaff secretary treasurer. Afterward guests danced in the Richwood gym.
