East Blagrove man undergoes successful stomach to intestine operation

George Irwin of east Blagrove street underwent a stomach to intestine opening surgery for stomach trouble. The operation was performed early Saturday by Drs. T F Wurtsbaugh and F M Wurtsbaugh with assistants Drs. W B Duke H C Duke E P Hall S J Bown Bomley and L E Russell. Miss White a trained nurse from Columbus aided. He is in ill health but considered likely to recover.

Rural Party Honors Miss Ruth Kinney Guests At Richwood Home

Miss Ruth Kinney entertained a group of young friends at her rural Richwood area home on Tuesday evening June 6 1911. The lawn was decorated with Japanese lanterns and games such as Hide-and-Go-Seek provided amusement. Refreshments were served late then guests departed, having enjoyed the evening. Rural Richwood hosts hold social with visiting couples

Mr and Mrs W H Lake and daughter Ruth entertained guests at their east Richwood home last Saturday evening. Guests included Mr and Mrs Don McCombs of Toledo, Mr and Mrs Hugh Rowland of Columbus, Miss Myrtle Oliver and Mr Edward Jones of Richwood. Ice cream and cake were served.

Increase in Saloons In Ohio Reported by Auditor

Auditor Fullington reports more Ohio saloons in the year ending January 1911 with 7097 establishments, up 189 from January 1910. Total tax revenue for state and local units reached 3 531 625 58 dollars, vs 3 436 793 81 a year earlier. State share 1 063 859 28 and local 2 467 766 30 in 1911. 1 033 860 38 and 2 402 933 43 in 1910.

The group allegedly stages arrests between court terms, pays witnesses 10 cents a mile plus 1.50 daily fees, and avoids long jail terms by repeated offenses. Sam Berke Dead Richwood merchant dies in Cleveland

Sam Berke a longtime Richwood clothing merchant died Monday noon at his son Mark Berke's home in Cleveland after seeking stomach treatment. He was 54 years old with a wife and children Leah Pasternak Mark Berke Taylor Robinson Jennie Sampliner and Wm Berke. Funeral services were held in Cleveland Wednesday at 2 pm with burial in a Hebrew cemetery.

Buck Parker Case Dismissed in Rose County

Buck Parker facing a violation charge under the Rose County option law was released after a $200 bond and failed to appear marshal Sloop did not attend as key witnesses were in Portsmouth Ohio and village funds were tight, so the case was dismissed.

Luther Ward released from Richwood village jail after a brief U S court hearing in Columbus. He was charged with whiskey selling under local option but was dismissed and returned to village authorities for good behavior.

Richwood Defeats Irwin in Hot Ohio Amateur Baseball Game

Richwood defeats Irwin 4 to 3 at Irwin after a seesaw duel. Batteries were Benner Snyder for Richwood and Houston Goings for Irwin. A return game at Varuna park in a few weeks and a Silk Mill of Marion vs Richwood clash are planned for next Sunday at two.

Church Services Resume After Redecoration

Sunday services returned at the Christian church after weeks of closure for interior redecorating. Rev. E. E. Pedicord led the service with help from the congregation as the church became more inviting. The walls were repapered in terra cotta and green and all woodwork varnished. The annual children's day exercises were held and found very interesting.

Richwood Knights of Pythias sent a large contingent to LaRue last Thursday night for the dedicatory exercises of LaRue’s new K P Hall. Attendees praised LaRue citizens for gracious entertainment and expressed pride in their lodge’s growth and need for a comparable building back home. Presbyterian Brotherhood Holds Second Regular Meeting

The newly organized group met at the church Monday evening with strong attendance and enthusiasm. Hon. Harry W. Crist, Delaware County representative, spoke on The Legislature and the Lobby, sharing insights into lawmaking. A brief program, business session led by C. E. Kagay, and refreshments followed, with the next meeting set for the second Monday in July.
