The Richwood Garden Club hosts a free public flower show from 2 to 9 pm on June 15 and 16 near Richwood Bank. Judge Mrs. Walter Burton will lecture Saturday at 2 pm. Exhibitors are urged to bring home grown specimens and follow detailed class rules for roses, perennials, annuals, house plants, and decorative arrangements.

Summersville Friends Aid Enjoys All Day Meet
The Summersville Aid Society of Friends held an all day meeting at Mrs. Walter Knight's home near London. Thirty six members and guests attended a noon picnic on a shady lawn and a short business session decided to retain officers for the coming year. Nora McMahan donated 96.50 from tax stamps and was thanked for sorting and sending the stamps. Marjorie Boyce sang How Great Thou Art with accordion, readings were by Hallie Jordan and Hazel Hull, then fishing and visiting followed. The June meeting will be at Hallie Jordan's home.

Freak storm damages farms near Magnetic Springs
A Thursday afternoon storm swept through the Magnetic Springs area damaging several farm buildings. The Thurman Fitzpatrick and Ralph Teets farms were hardest hit. At the Fitzpatrick farm a 32 by 60 foot pole barn was blown from its foundation, pulling out 16 telephone poles and demolishing the structure. Trees were uprooted and limbs fell across the Teets residence.

Vacation Church School at First Baptist Church Starts Monday
First Baptist Church begins its Vacation Church School on Monday June 17 at 9:00 a m and runs for two weeks from 9 to 11 daily except Saturday. Classes cover kindergarten through juniors with ages 4 to 7 and public school grades 2 through 7, all under the Missionary Outreach theme with Bible stories songs and activities.
