Richwood board of education met last Wednesday to discuss funding and space issues. Officials warn the public school fund is exhausted and a new heating plant is needed before winter. They consider building a new high school or redistributing students and may hire an extra high school teacher to ease overcrowding and relieve the superintendent and principal.
Lillian Hive led the Macabees Ladies in a Wednesday evening social with Mrs. W. H. Lake and Mrs. J. F. Stallsmith as hosts. Guests included Mrs. George Day of Chicago and Misses Ruth Stallsmith Mary Sloop and Ruth Lake. Refreshments were served and musical numbers entertained attendees. Flag Day is noted for display of the national colors in Richwood.
Miss Mary E. Stuart, a trimmer at Mrs. Campbells millinery, departed Tuesday for her Wilmore Kentucky home. The county institute of the W C T U will convene Tuesday and Wednesday June 18 19 at the Richwood M E church with temperance speaker Mrs Florence D Richards. Relatives from Columbus Marion Marysville Woodstock attend Pearl Donohoe funeral.
By the provisions of the will of Orville B. McLean of Leesburg township Mrs Belle Armstrong of Magnetic Springs receives 7000 dollars in cash. The remainder of the estate including 250 acres in Leesburg township, monies and chattels is divided equally among E D McLean Bainbridge Rose McLean Washington D C H McLean Magnetic Springs. The latter named executor without bond. The will dated May 12 1912 was probated Monday and witnessed by Dr Jesse F Conrad and Leroy B Scott of Magnetic Springs.
Richwood, Ohio with about 1700 residents begins selling its current fire equipment and invites bids for a modern motorized fire motor apparatus as central Ohio towns rapidly modernize their fleets.
Arrangements set for Union County boys to attend Camp Budd June 19 to 27 under B R Ryall state secretary rural Y M C A Ohio. Apply to Ryall at 36 S 3rd St Columbus or J C White Marysville. Eight day camp fee four dollars with a one dollar nonmember registration.
Four year old Donabell Wornstaff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Wornstaff, died Sunday at eight in Ottawa at her grandparents’ home. She had come from Ashley for heart trouble treatment. Funeral services were held at Shoup church Tuesday at ten, burial in Shoup cemetery.
John Hunt of Akron Ohio visited from Saturday to Monday with his wife Mrs John Hunt who is spending the summer with her parents Mr and Mrs George Ehret north of Richwood.
Mr. and Mrs. A I Glick and Mr. and Mrs. Ike Reder celebrated twenty five years of marriage yesterday at the Glick home on east Blagrove street. Reder and Glick are siblings and the double wedding occurred twenty five years ago in Akron at a Jewish Synagogue officiated by Rabbi Leo Reich of Philadelphia. The gathering included immediate family and the Reder family as they visit from Akron with their daughter Jeannitte who will spend a month at Magnetic Springs before returning home.
Mrs Otis Fuller is seriously ill at her home on South Fulton Street with headlines noting her condition.
Mrs Gertrude Millar and her children visit in Marion with her parents Mr and Mrs E P Houghton who plan to sail to England this week Mrs Millar is joined by Mrs E Y King of Lima on her way home The Woman's Relief Corps held a large meeting with three candidates initiated after routine work a social hour followed and refreshments served The membership contest ends in July with a banquet for the winners
Nora B Marsh married Byron Wallin Brady Monday at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs John Milton Marsh in Marion. Brady manages a Mansfield shoe store and they will reside there. The bride, born in Jackson township, has worked as a stenographer for Copeland Bartram in Marion for nine years and has visited Richwood’s Anna Mealey.
Pearl Donohoe died Saturday at ten o'clock at his parents home on west Ottawa street after several months with tuberculosis. Born July 30, 1878, he was nearly thirty four and spent most of his life in Richwood. He leaves parents, three siblings and many relatives. Funeral Sunday at two with Rev. Charles B. Cramer. interment in Claiborne cemetery. Pallbearers named Howard Woods Charles Weaver Emery Cahill Dolly Scott O H Phinney Clyde Dean.
W H Lake suffered a serious fall from a ladder on his Richwood area farm while climbing to a granary second floor. He landed on his head and shoulders, was unconscious, but resuscitated by Dr H C Duke. No bones were broken though he is badly shaken and confined to bed for several days.
C R Watkins Radnor assessor reports to the county auditor that Radnor township has no watches and only one automobile. The note adds that cloudy weather makes telling time difficult in that area.

A group of Richwood supporters traveled to Delaware Monday to watch Wooster play. The contest ended with Delaware defeating Wooster five to two.
Orville B. McClain, about fifty one, died Friday in Magnetic Springs after a tuberculous illness. Born nearby, he leaves sister Rose of Washington H D C and brothers Emmett of Bainbridge and L C near Magnetic Springs. Funeral at M E church Magnetic Springs Sunday at one, Rev Clinger officiating. burial in Claiborne cemetery.
The church plans a June 16 1912 program with a 9:00 Sunday school led by D L Prichard, 10:30 Children’s Day, 6:30 B P A, and 7:30 adult program. The sermon topics include The End of the Commandment and The Prodigal Son and the Son That Stayed at Home with Pastor Albert Gulledge inviting all. Rev M R Stover will report from the state Sunday school convention in Columbus.
Miss Kathryn Seig turned eleven with a hillside picnic at the Erie gravel pit. A merry group of young friends including Mary Haughn, Mabel Randall, Elinor Gill, Gertrude Mather, Gwenn Marriott, and others enjoyed outdoor games and a grass lunch while Mrs. R. E. Sieg and Mrs. G. M. Howard chaperoned.
John Ogan of Richwood and Flora Adair art teacher of Magnetic Springs united in marriage at Covington Kentucky on June 8. The couple spent time in Cincinnati before returning to Richwood to establish their home on East Blagrove Street and plan a June 28 reception for friends and relatives.
Miss Myrtle Oliver spent Monday afternoon with Miss Mary Jones in Marion. Miss Jones has been ill for several weeks.
The ten year old son of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Winter has been seriously ill with appendicitis in recent days. His uncle Dr N Sifritt of LaRue was summoned Tuesday to consult with Drs W B and H C Duke and it is hoped surgery may be avoided.

Miss Dollie Seaman of Essex wed Mr. Ernest Burnsides from near Byhalia in an April ceremony kept secret until June 1. About forty five relatives and friends gathered at the bride’s parents home for a shower in their honor.
Miss Beatrice Naghten and Mr. Roy den McNeil of Columbus united in marriage yesterday morning. They returned to Mt Vernon avenue for a wedding breakfast with immediate family. The groom, a Richwood native, is employed as a fireman on the Pennsylvania railroad. The bride is described as a charming Columbus girl and friends extend congratulations.
John Jerew narrowly escaped a fatal gun accident at his Richwood home while cleaning a revolver believed unloaded. A misfire sent a bullet through his forehead, then into the ceiling. Dr. L L Roebuck required stitching to close the scalp wound. He is about twenty and employed on the paved streets.
Richwood led 2 0 0 0 1 0 4 6 in a lopsided Sunday game at Pastime park as Delaware Buds pushed ahead. Benner pitched well in his first contest since last season while Yachem and Ball provided Delaware’s key hits. Attendance was 283 with McPherson umpiring. Woman’s Mission Circle meet next Wednesday at 1 30 p m at Mrs. G C Fields home.
Miss Clara L. Monroe former Richwood girl married June 8 in Lompoc California to Mr. C Jennings Stanley. The ceremony occurred at the bride’s aunt Mrs Anna Dille’s home. The couple left for Los Angeles then Chicago for a family visit expected to reach Richwood around June 23. Stanley and his brother manage an 800 acre California ranch and are involved in oil interests. he could not accompany his wife to Ohio.
Miss Crystal E Daniels and Mr L Everett Rice were married Thursday at Rev E E Pedicord’s West Mansfield home. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Daniels, worked as a bookkeeper at Peet Hardware Co. The groom runs a barber shop in Green Camp. they will reside there with many friends’ congratulations.
Farmers are greatly discouraged this year due to unseasonable weather. Yet there is little danger of famine in the country and citizens should feel thankful for the blessings received.
Mrs. Josephine Warren widow of George Warren who died in a Delaware county hunting accident about fifteen years ago passed away at her mother's Chicago residence on Friday. She was about forty and had long been ill. The Warrens lived in Richwood sixteen years ago where George Warren worked in buying and selling hay.
Mr and Mrs B H Games visit the former's mother and sister Mrs R E Games and Mrs J C Warren near Claiborne. Mr Games recently left Harrisburg Ohio public schools to take a similar teaching post in Cincinnati schools. The Games family once lived in Richwood and has prospered since leaving.
Members of Livingston Post and the Woman's Relief Corps plan to attend the Springfield annual encampment from Monday to Friday next week. The Grand Army parade is set for Thursday at 1 30 PM. A reception for Commander in Chief H M Trimble of Illinois will be held Monday evening June 17. The Billy Sunday tabernacle will host receptions and campfires.
